 The Vanity of Life

Ecclesiastes 1:1
[ The Vanity of Life ] The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.

 Ecclesiastes 1:2
Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “ Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”

Dictionary’s 1st definition… Excessive pride in one’s appearance, qualities, abilities, achievements, etc.: character or quality of being vain; conceit: Failure to be elected was a great blow to his vanity.

Vanity has to do with excessive self-interest. Surely all of us understand through our own common natures what these words tell us. As the planets revolve about the sun, even so, other people revolve around us. We are the center of our own world. From very early childhood we seek to fulfill our own wants and needs. Survival in the natural world demands this behavior from us. This is of course before we learn to empathize with our fellow beings.

We are born into isolation and must learn that others are as we are, also isolated. No one that I know of is able to read your thoughts. Facial expressions and body language give us clues but there is no certainty as to what we feel or are thinking. We must learn to communicate with the body and vocal language. The family affords us the opportunity to modify our excessive self-interest by replacing it with the joy of pleasing others. Without loving parents to counsel us, we could have fallen into dangerous difficulties. So by their aid, we gain experience more safely than might otherwise have taken place. God’s gift of family is eternal. We cannot thank him often enough for the enormous blessing of family.

Looking out for one’s best interest is a proper and good thing in my opinion. The eternal best interest for each of us is not always immediately self-evident. What we imagine to be in our own best interest, in this mortal experience, may very well be destructive for our eternal afterlife. That is why we have the Father, Son, Holy Ghost, and Family. Everything is family, all in all.

The Word of Yahuah, the Holy Bible should be in forefront of our minds. We are subject to error if we fail to inquire of our Heavenly Father about a matter of weight. Seriously, been your knees. Try to walk with Yahuah and Yahusha alway in your present mind.

Hebrews 11:35
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

Best possible RESURRECTION isn’t that what we want for our family and ourselves. Our behavior, the choices we make, will contribute to the type or degree of glory our future bodies will have.

Jesus asks for us to be perfect, even as his father, out father in heaven is perfect. Would he counsel us to do something that was not possible? You should see, that we are certainly able to strive towards keeping all the commandments. In as far as we have a free well, are we not responsible for our choices? We will inevitably make mistakes but we can still be perfect because of the blood of Jesus on the cross. We do all that we honestly can and Yahusha (Jesus) will do the rest. He knows our hearts, the core of our being. We can rest with the knowledge that our Lord, King, and Judge will fairly judge us. Let our works manifest the faith we chose to walk in may free of from judgment. Let us be part of the first resurrection. HallaluYah!

James 2:20
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Once again, let us strive to be perfect like our Father, who is in heaven, by being obedient disciples of Yahusha the Messiah (Jesus the Christ).
